whoa, livejournal. it's been a long time. last time i wrote in you, i was working at the dave ramsey show, it was hot, i'd just gotten back from chicago, and i was ready to start Jr year.
since that time: - i started (and finished) the first semester of jr year. and passed everything (whoo) - i got engaged to my lovely lady. - my band's played a bunch of shows. - i'm still doing the radio station/program manager thing - i've patched a lot of friendships and lost a few. - listened to a ton of music, too. - been involved with a beard contest.
it's been a good year, livejournal. i'm sorry i didn't include you in most of it. maybe we're growing apart. you're doing your hair differently, you started wearing a different perfume, and we just hang out with different people than we used to. we've changed, it's normal.
this isn't a goodbye, just a re-aquaintence. i'll keep in touch if you promise to, as well.

So, Jacob, Amanda, and myself attended the Intonation Festival this past weekend. It was really good.
And Pitchfork is doing a big feature story (in 4 parts) on it. Well, go here and scroll down to the go! team spot. And look at the bottom right picture. Blue shirt, goofy glasses, even goofier grin.
I'm totally famous now.
The Go! Team were fucking awesome, by the way.Current Music: LCD Soundsystem - Losing My Edge

Photo site has been updated again. Stuff from b/w photo class this past semester.
I haven't really been updating this like I should, but for the time being I haven't had internet at my house and nobody wants to read me saying every other day that I'm too busy, so I'll just say it now:
life is too busy.
I think that covers me for the past few months well enough.
Oh, and word to the wise: desk jobs suck. Just don't do it.Current Mood: getting kinda sick. Current Music: talking heads

i think i've just about given up on anything cool happening this summer.
that pitchfork music fest in chicago sounds fantabulous.... go check it out, it's on the front page, i won't bother listing the bands (though i do know the go! team are playing... i'm sold)... the kicker is that it's 10 bucks at the door every day, no ticketmaster bullshit... it's in july, so no wedding weirdness to schedule around.... price is right, bands rock, and all schedules are go. if i don't make it to this one, i'm gonna hit something.
please someone let april just disappear. 9 days in and i'm sure we can all agree this month blows ass. |

Oh dear lord. I think I've got to go to the Sasquatch! Festival.
Who's with me?
Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, Wilco, AC Newman, The Pixies, Modest Mouse, Kanye West, The Frames (meh, but i'd dig seeing em), Joanna Newsome..... May 28th. Gorge, WA. (How long would it be to drive? Flying is probably way cheaper.)
The website is pretty unclear as to how much tickets will be, but one price says $30. Not sure if camping is included in that.
Presale starts in two hours. Eeeep.
(edit) Looked at the HOB site, says tix are $55. $30 for camping, I believe. Still... that lineup is fuggin ridiculous. |

i am a scenester!

How indie are you? test by ridethefader
You are so indie it hurts. You hang out with the coolest people in your city. It doesn't even bother you that none of them know your name. You know lots of bands personally, you know a couple of guys from We Hate The Mainstream Records, and you blag your way into getting almost everything for free. That fanzine you write gives you extra kudos. You probably don't even care that non-scenesters think you're a pretentious fuck.
ouch. 'pretentious fuck'?
this weekend was spent in texas. today, tomorrow, and half of wednesday will be in murfreesboro. latter half of wednesday-monday morning is BACK in texas.
now, off to biology to be completely bored out of my mind. |
